Museum of Modern Arts and "Architektura-murator" invites to a discussion as a part of programme accompanying the exhibition.

Plan of the debate:

Welcoming address: curators Tomasz Fudala, Ewa P. Porębska and moderator Piotr Sarzyński

Concept of the Collection – Ewa P. Porębska, Editor-in-Chief of the Architektura- murator monthly magazine

"The Quality of Architecture Matters" - arch. Monika Kupska-Kupis representative of VELUX company / sponsor of the Architektura-murator’s collection for the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw

"Travelling in Poland" – introduction to the debate  - Piotr Sarzyński.

Debate with participation of architects/designers of structures presented at the exhibition:

3 main panellists - representatives of architectural practices, which present more than one structure at the exhibition of the Architektura-murator collection for the Museum of Modern Art:
Robert Konieczny, Ewa Kuryłowicz, Jerzy Szczepanik-Dzikowski.

The debate will focus on the question of the public perception and public functions of architecture. Some subjects to be discussed: are cities better served by architecture  “contentious” or “submissive” to the surroundings, tradition and architectural context? Can brilliant architecture of individual structures influence the quality of space in our cities? What role should architects play in creating the aesthetic consciousness of our countrymen? How to promote the best examples? Are social criteria in evaluating architecture and urban planning increasingly important?
