Alphaville

  • Alphaville

"Alphaville" film poster, directed by Jean-Luc Godard, 1965

"Alphaville" is one of the key positions of the French New Wave. It combines the genres of dystopian science fiction and film noir and shows a vision of a society ruled by a computer. In Alphaville, a far-away galaxy, loneliness and alienation as well as dictatorship of the logical mind and censorship of thoughts are daily bread to its citizens. Jean-Luc Godard invites the viewer to a world, where there is no place for music, poetry, emotions and - most of all - for love.
