BRINGING BACK ON-SITE EVENTS
AT THE MUSEUM ON THE VISTULA

  • BRINGING BACK ON-SITE EVENTS

The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw is launching the events around “The Penumbral Age. Art in the Time of Planetary Change” exhibition.

Starting on July 12th (Wednesday), on-site events around “The Penumbral Age. Art in the Time of Planetary Change” exhibition will be held at the Museum on the Vistula—outdoors, in the area around the Museum building, with limited numbers of participants. The events will complement the online programme, which has been active for the last few months.

The visitors will be able to participate in events that will help them experience the current exhibition more fully. On-site activities open to the public will include:

Sunday family workshops
Every Sunday afternoon in July, between 12 and 2 pm, our experienced team of educators will offer advice as to how to best experience the exhibition with children.
Safety first: the events will begin on the terrace in front of the Museum on the Vistula, and the participants will perform all the tasks individually. The Museum will provide disinfected drawing materials, but if you are extra-cautious, you are welcome to bring your own. For the first workshop, children will need colouring pencils, crayons, or markers, chalk, Post-its, A4 sheets, clipboards or cardboard folders (to put under their sheet), millimetre paper.

On July 12th we will try to find out what a rock can know about the Earth. The event will be hosted by Katarzyna Witt, who also wrote the publication connected to “The Penumbral Age. Art in the Time of Planetary Change” for children. The next two workshops will be held on July 19th (integrated class) and 26th.
To sign up for the Sunday classes, you need to fill in the form provided in the Events section on artmuseum.pl.

Authors’ introductions
Short introductions to the themes of the exhibition, covering subjects from the field of both art and science, as well as the stories behind the exhibited works.
On Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays the talks will be held by our educators, and on Thursdays by the curators. Introductions in English on Saturdays only.

Days and times: Tuesday (5 pm, 5:30, 6 pm), Thursday (4 pm, 4:30, 5 pm), Saturday (2 pm, 2:30, 3 pm), Sunday (2 pm, 2:30, 3 pm).
