Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw cordially invites all admirers of Tadeusz Rolke’s photography to use the newly launched online archive of the artist. The Artists Archives of Museum resources on artmuseum.pl/rolke will initially include four thousand images of Rolke’s photographs.

Born in 1929, the artist is a classic of Polish photography. Since the mid-50s he cultivates humanistic reportage presented on the pages of magazines such as "Stolica", "Polska", "Ty i Ja", "Die Zeit", "Stern","Der Spiegel". He documented the various manifestations of visual culture in Poland and abroad, from art to fashion to pop music. He spent 1970s as an émigré in West Germany, returning to Warsaw in 1980, where he lives and works today.

On April 4th at 18.00 in Auditorium of Museum of Modern Art a meeting is held with Tadeusz Rolke, during which the artist will talk about the 30 of his iconic photographs.

Published part of Rolke's archive will be continuously updated another part of Tadeusz Rolke Archive will available on May 23rd 2014, on the eve of the 85th the artist's birthday.

The aim of the project created by the Museum’s Artists Archives is to facilitate the research and popularization of the most interesting phenomena of art created after 1945. Archives already available on artmuseum.pl include Alina Szapocznikow, Eustachy Kossakowski, Grzegorz Kowalski and 7. Berlin Biennale.
