The watercolour “Three tombstones”, dating back to 1956, is a harbinger of a late, short but also one of the most interesting stages in the artist’s creative life.

It is from this period that the bitter and ironic “Tombstone of a Womaniser” (1957) originates, to which the acquired work is a sketch.
