Since its inception in 2005, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw has collected 1022 works of art (as of: December 2019) by contemporary Polish and foreign artists.
The Museum enhances its collection above all through the acquisition of works of art by purchase – realized as part of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage program called “National Collections of Modern Art”, as well as through gift, bequest and deposit from artists, businesses and private people – including gift-givers from the Society of Friends of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. Numerous works of art in the collection were created during the exhibitions and public projects realized by our institution. The Museum’s resources also include the artistic archives as well as the Filmoteka Muzeum – a collection of artists’ films comprising of a few hundred titles, available online.
LOANS
Please be informed that access to all museum collections is suspended until 31 December 2024. This is due to the relocation and the need to arrange new museum space for the public. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
A request to borrow works of art from the Museum’s collection should be filed at least six months before the planned exhibition. Requests should contain:
— purpose of the loan, including a description of the exhibition
— list of requested works, including inventory number, author, title, date, technique (these can be obtained from the Museum’s website)
— planned loan period and place of the exhibition
— facility report
— contact details of the organizer of the exhibition and persons responsible for the security of the exhibition

IMPORTANT!
The new premises of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw on Defilad Square is under construction. At the opening of the new premises we will present an exhibition of works from our collection. Therefore, beginning December 2021, all loans will be suspended. We are grateful for your understanding. Please contact us regarding future loans after the opening of the new premises.
SHARING IMAGES AND REPRODUCTION RIGHTS
In order to receive an image and reproduction rights, please fill in the application form for images of objects from the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw together with the GDPR Clause and send it to kolekcja@artmuseum.pl. Except cases described in the bill from 25 February 2016 on the reuse of information from the public sector (Dz.U. 2016, poz. 352), all images are shared against payment.
