Mirosław Filonik (born 1958)
Mirosław Filonik is known for his installations, sculptures and objects. In the years 1986 – 1989, together with Mirosław Bałka and Marek Kijewski, he was a member of the reputed group "Neue Bieriemiennost". Since 1989, Filonik has been using fluorescent tubes to create geometrical forms in the interior of galleries as well as on the façade of buildings. In his work, the artists refers to Eastern spirituality – the light installations are supposed to communicate the other, supernatural reality.
