Cathy Wilkes (born 1966)
Cathy Wilkes (born 1966 in Belfast) is one of the most valued contemporary sculptors. She creates original spatial compositions and installations, experimenting with a wide range of materials and techniques, with overlapping plains of personal and historical memory. The reflective and existential output of Wilkes confronts the audience with the subject of entropy, apocalypse and disintegration, persuading them to contemplate the experience of death and the passing time.
