In this short film Wojciech Wiszniewski uses images and popular melodies to tell a story of the workingman. The film begins with a scene of a group posing for a souvenir photo, which marks the occasion of the main character’s retirement. Wiszniewski reflects here on the deep and often intimate relationship that binds a person to his or her profession. In this short film, retirement produces a traumatic crisis of identity for the main character, an individual with a strong connection to his workplace. Wiszniewski’s film addresses the myth of the workingman through the use of simple technical tools.
