The Straight Curve engages in a peculiar way with the real two-dimensionality of film and the illusion of three dimensions created by its representational layer. By contrasting various flat geometric figures with filmed images from reality, Waśko reminds us that film produces merely an illusion of three-dimensionality, while in reality the images are recorded on flat film stock.
