Joint films by Teresa Tyszkiewicz and Zdzisław Sosnowski, such as The Other Side or Permanent Position constitute the fullest expression of the interest of Polish artists of the 70s in eroticism. We are witnessing here a sensual story of the intimate relation of a couple in love, who develop through improvised actions-compositions the repertoire of visual equivalents of the experience of love and romantic relationship. Here, however, their private sphere is permeated by various media, like TV or press, enabling communication with the parallel political and aesthetic reality, which is at the same time the source of the content that Tyszkiewicz and Sosnowski process – the personal experience of eroticism is confronted here with the clichéd poetics of erotic representations, which infiltrated into Poland from the West.
