Agnieszka Polska’s works owe their appeal to the balanced and elaborate strategy of rhythmisation. Although visually Fire Cupping comes across as a simple animated form, it reveals its artistry at the very level of rhythm and sound.

The work appears as a symphony for fire cups. Breaths merged with stronger accents of simple sounds draw the viewer into the abstract story. The sensual motionlessness, state of suspension, fragmentary character of the latent body... right until the final turning point. It all spreads an uncanny atmosphere based on the rhythm and charm of the slow-motion presentation.
