The commonplace view of a motorway, recorded kilometre by kilometre from the windows of a driving car, is an important part of reality for Natalia LL. According to the artist, “Art happens with every moment of reality, and every fact, every second is unique and one-off for a human being”. Fragmentary record impels the audience to actively add what happened before and after, to make events coherent and continuous. Thus, a trivial event provides an opportunity for sensations of the mind. It is the basic principle of “permanent art” practiced by Natalia LL – conceptual art whose essence resides in what happens between the material work and the mind of the experiencing viewer.
