In Soap Operation, Michał Woliński works with found footage from popular TV series shot at his avant-garde art gallery Piktogram, a space he rents out as a shooting location. Here, it is transformed into a traditional art gallery, the kind of art venue that the Polish society appreciates the most. Woliński pastes new paintings replacing those that were already “pasted” by the makers of the TV series – as a result, instead of traditional art, the famous actors and new elites delight in experimental works of art.
