Marxism and Art
Open Museum 2013/2014

“Marxism and Art” is the first public presentation of a research project carried out by the Museum of Modern Art and the Art History Institute of Warsaw University, in collaboration with art historian, critic and curator Dorota Jarecka.

“Marxism and Art” is a series of seven meetings (lectures and seminars) which examines the relationship between selected issues of art history and Marxism. The series will feature Karl Marx’s approach to modernity, ideas and thoughts on art by Walter Benjamin, Stefan Morawski, György Lukács, Władysław Strzemiński, and feminist aesthetics.

The lectures and seminars will be conducted by: Professor Andrzej Turowski, Professor Agata Bielik-Robson, PhD Adam Lipszyc, Professor Zofia Rosińska, PhD Magdalena Radomska, PhD Luiza Nader and PhD Ewa Majewska.
