Szumin: 2019 Season
Field trips
The House of Zofia and Oskar Hansen in Szumin is opening its doors to the public again this spring.
The House, a medium-sized structure currently under the conservatorship of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, is a functional manifesto of the Open Form in three dimensions. The Open Form is a theory that permeated Hansen’s work – across architecture, art and teaching.
The season 2019 in Szumin is devoted to the study of the mezo scale, in which Oscar and Zofia Hansen saw the opportunity to establish relations with the immediate surroundings: their neighbors, the countryside, and the surrounding nature.
