Szumin: season 2017
Excursions and workshops

The house of Zofia and Oskar Hansen in Szumin will be open to the public again this spring.

A relatively small house, supported by the Museum of Modern Art, is a spatial manifestation of “Forma Otwarta” – a theory that formed the basis of Hansen’s architectonic actions, as well as his artistic and didactic world.

The number of participants is limited. Application details available below.

Excursions

Because of the space limitations a registration procedure must be followed, using the application form that will be available at the Museum’s site one week before the event. Maximum number of participants is 16, the registration will be handled on a first-come-first-service basis. The underage participants must come with care-takers. We leave Warsaw at 10 am and come back around 5 pm. Admission free.

Rules:

• The house is open for small groups of visitors (a maximum of 16 persons per group). However, due to issues of conservation, no more than 9 people are allowed inside the house at any given time.
• The tours are free of charge, but anyone willing to participate must register by filling out the form available on the Museum’s webpage. Applications are processed in the order they are received.
• The application form is posted on the Museum’s website one week before the event. Only one person can register at a time, by providing full contact information (telephone no., and e-mail address). Registering multiple persons in a single form will result in its cancellation.
• Registration is confirmed via e-mail by the Museum’s employees. All those on the reserve list will be notified about any openings.
• The trip lasts for 7 hours, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Museum provides transportation from and back to Warsaw, a guided tour, NWW (accident insurance), and warm beverages.
• The tour is held in Polish. Translation into English or the Polish Sign Language available if needed. Please request a translation into these languages after receiving a booking confirmation of your place on the tour.
 

Dates

May 27th (Saturday), the application form will open on May 20th at 10.00 am.
June 17th (Saturday), the application form will open on June 10th at 10.00 am.
July 1st (Saturday), the application form will open on June 24th at 10.00 am.
July 15th (Saturday), the application form will open on July 8th at 10.00 am.
July 29th (Saturday), the application form will open on July 22nd at 10.00 am.
August 26th (Saturday), the application form will open on August 19th at 10.00 am.

Family excursions
 

Rules:

• Workshops are designed for children aged 5 to 7 years, and their minders. A maximum of 8 children (plus one minder per child) can participate.
• Participation is free, but anyone willing to participate must register by filling out the form available on the Museum’s webpage. Applications are processed in the order they are received
• The application form is posted on the Museum’s website one week before the event. You must provide the child’s full name and age, as well as the minder’s full name, telephone no., and e-mail address.
• Registration is confirmed via e-mail by the Museum’s employees. All those on the reserve list will be notified about any openings, which would allow them to participate in the workshops.
• The workshops last for 7 hours (including the commute time), from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Museum provides transportation from and back to Warsaw, the care of museum educators, workshop supplies, NWW (accident insurance) and refreshments.
• Workshops are held in Polish.

June 3rd (Saturday), the application form will open on May 27th at 10.00 am.
August 12th (Saturday), the application form will open on August 5th at 10.00 am.

Please register through the application form. Seats are limited and the applicants will be handled on a first-come-first-service basis.
