Description by Filmoteka Muzeum

The performance took place at the Manhattan Gallery in Łódź on Women’s Day in 2007. Dressed in identical outfits, the artists: Karolina Wiktor and Aleksandra Kubiak, first sprinkled the gallery floor with vodka and then licked it up. While doing it, they inevitably assumedclearly sexual body postures. They were watched by viewers from a mezzanine situated above, which emphasised their privileged position of power. The choice to stage the action on Women’s Day was not random. The performance demonstrates the relations that occur between women’s corporeality and the gallery as a space of domineering gaze.
